Lied #1
Knocking on heavens door
Refr.: Knock, knock, knockin’ on heaven’s door (4x)
Mama, put my guns in the ground
Lied #2
hymn
V2. Jesus came down from Heaven to earth,
the people said it was a virgin birth,
Jesus came down from Heaven to earth,
the people said it was a virgin birth,
the people said it was…. a virgin birth.
V3. He told great stories of the Lord
and said he was the saviour of us all
He told great stories of the Lord
and said he was the saviour of us all
and said he was the saviour of us all.
V4. For this we killed him,
nailed him up high he rose again as if to ask us why.
Then he ascended into the sky
as if to say in God alone we soar as if to say in God alone we fly.
V5. Valley’s deep and the mountains so high,
If you want to see God you’ve got to move on the other side.
You stand up there with your head in the clouds
don’t try to fly, you know you might not come down.
Don’t try to fly near God you might not come down.
V6. Valley’s deep and the mountains so high,
If you want to see God you’ve got to move on the other side.
You stand up there with your head in the clouds,
don’t try to fly, you know you might not come down.
Don’t try to fly near God you might not come down.
Lied #3
Freiheit
.
.
Die Kapelle, rum-ta-ta
Und der Papst war auch schon da
Und mein Nachbar vorneweg
.
.
Freiheit, Freiheit, ist die einzige, die fehlt
Freiheit, Freiheit, ist die einzige, die fehlt.
.
.
Der Mensch ist leider nicht naiv,
der Mensch ist leider primitiv.
.
.
Freiheit, Freiheit, wurde wieder abbestellt.
Alle, die von Freiheit träumen,
sollen’s Feiern nicht versäumen
sollen tanzen auch auf Gräbern.
.
.
/: Freiheit, Freiheit, ist das einzige, was zählt.
Freiheit, Freiheit, ist das einzige, was zählt. :/
Lied #4
wind of change
.
.
.
.
Walking down the street, distant memories are buried in the past forever.
I follow the Moskva down to Gorky Park listening to the wind of change.
.
.
.
.
Bridge:
The wind of change blows straight into the face of time like a storm wind
that will ring the freedom bell for peace of mind let your balalaika
sing what my guitar wants to say
.
.
Take me to the magic of the moment on a glory night
where the children of tomorrow share their dreams with you and me.
Take me to the magic of the moment on a glory night
where the children of tomorrow dream away in the wind of change.
Lied #5
yesterday
Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away,
now it looks as though they’re here to stay.
Oh I believe in Yesterday.
.
.
Suddenly, I’m not half the man I used to be,
there ‘s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, Yesterday came suddenly.
.
.
Why she had to go I don’t know, she wouldn’t say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
.
.
Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play,
now I need a place to hide away. Oh I believe in Yesterday,
Why she had to go I don’t know, she wouldn’t say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.
.
.
Yesterday, Love was such an easy game to play,
now I need a place to hide away, Oh I believe in Yesterday. mm mm mm mm, mm….
Lied #6
the wild rover
.
.
2.
I went into an alehouse I used to frequent
And I told the landlady me money was spent
I asked her for credit, she answered me “Nay!”
“Such a custom as yours I can have any day!”
Chorus: And it’s no nay never, no nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover, no never, no more.
.
.
.
4.
I’ll go home to my parents, confess what I’ve done
And I’ll ask them to pardon their prodigal son.
And when they’ve caressed me as oft’times before
Then I never will play the wild rover no more.
Chorus: And it’s no nay never, no nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover, no never, no more
Chorus: And it’s no nay never, no nay never no more
Will I play the wild rover, no never, no more
Lied #7
blowing in the wind
How many roads must a man walk down,
before you call him a man?
How many seas must a white dove sail,
before she sleeps in the sand?
Yes, and how many times must the cannonballs fly,
before they’re forever banned?
.
.
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
the answer is blowin’ in the wind.
.
.
Yes, and how many years must a mountain exist,
before it is washed to the sea?
Yes, and how many years can some people exist,
before they’re allowed to be free?
Yes, and how many times can a man turn his head,
and pretend that he just doesn’t see?
.
.
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
the answer is blowin’ in the wind.
Yes, and how many times must a man look up,
before he can see the sky?
Yes, and how man ears must one man have,
before he can hear people cry?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take ‘till he knows,
that too many people have died?
.
.
The answer, my friend,
is blowin’ in the wind, the answer is blowin’ in the wind.
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind,
the answer is blowin’ in the wind.
Lied #8
country roads
Almost heaven, West Virginia,
Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River.
Life is old there, older than the trees,
younger than the mountains,
Growin’ like a breeze.
.
.
Country roads, take me home,
to the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama,
take me home, country roads.
.
.
All my memories gather ‘round her,
miner’s lady, stranger to blue water.
Dark and dusty, painted on the sky,
misty taste of moonshine, teardrop in my eye.
.
.
Country roads, take me home,
to the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama,
take me home, country roads.
.
.
I hear her voice in the morning hour, she calls me
The radio reminds me of my home far away
Driving down the road,
I get a feelin’ that I should’ve been home, yesterday, yesterday.
.
.
Country roads, take me home,
to the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama,
take me home, country roads.
.
.
Country roads, take me home,
to the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain mama,
take me home, country roads.
Oh take me home, country roads.
Oh take me home, country roads.

Ain’t gonna study war no more, Ain’t gonna
study war no more
2. I’m gonna lay down my sword and shield …
3. I’m gonna lay down my travellin’ shoes ….
4. I’m gonna lay down my gun and belt …

6. I’m gonna put on my starry crown …
7. I’m gonna walk with the Prince of Peace …
Lied #10
my lighthouse
V1
In my wrestling and in my doubts,
in my failures, you won’t walk out.
Your great love will lead me through;
you are the peace in my troubled sea, whoa oh,
you are my peace in my troubled sea.
V2
In the silence, you won’t let go.
In the questions, your truth will hold.
Your great love will lead me through;
you are the peace in my troubled sea, whoa oh,
you are the peace in my troubled sea.
Refr.:
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
shining in the darkness, I will follow you!
Oh, my Lighthouse, my Lighthouse,
I will trust the promise; you will carry me
safe to shore, safe to shore,
safe to shore, safe to shore.
V3
I won’t fear what tomorrow brings.
With each morning, I’ll rise and sing.
My God’s love will lead me through;
You are the peace in my troubled sea.
Whoa oh, you are the peace in my troubled sea.
Refr.:
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
shining in the darkness, I will follow you!
Oh, my Lighthouse, my Lighthouse,
I will trust the promise; you will carry me
safe to shore, safe to shore,
safe to shore, safe to shore.
Bridge:
Fire before us, you ‘re the brightest, you will lead us through the storms.
Fire before us, you ‘re the brightest, you will lead us through the storms. Hey!
Fire before us, you ‘re the brightest, you will lead us through the storms.
Fire before us, you ‘re the brightest, you will lead us through the storms.
Refr.:
My Lighthouse, my Lighthouse
shining in the darkness, I will follow you!
Oh, my Lighthouse, my Lighthouse,
I will trust the promise; you will carry me
safe to shore, safe to shore,
safe to shore, safe to shore.
Gedanken über Gott und die Welt …
.
